Car insurance? why don't we get money back?

so i have six years driving and paying car insurance and have never had any accident so why can't the car insurance companies give me back all the money they never used for "in case i did mess up" which i didn't. I feel like im being extorted and taking it in the backside with no vaseline. Anyone have advice for how to avoid or loop hole being swindled by car insurance? I feel like car insurance companies should charge but give you your money back at the end of the year if you didn't have any accidents what do you all think?
