Expert advice please!!! (Extensive/long) clic honda and sheisty mechanic?

These are two unrelated issues. I suspect that your battery is going flat because the stator is shorting out. It probably doesn't (and never did) have anything to do with the rectifier. The carbs were probably a separate bad job.
