I just bought a diaper genie 2 was it a waste of money?

i think so..for my baby shower my girl friend bought me these little bags from the dollar store..it comes with 100 in a box and they smell like baby lotion..and work great..i pull one out and stick the dirty diaper and wipes in there and no smell and easy to clean..
